Pills For Skin Whitening - Could They Really Work?

Skin whitening pills - can it be as simple and easy as the pill or tablet really gives you the glow you want? It sounds almost too good to be true but maybe they actually work? In this article, I'm going to investigate if they really work. I'll tell you what these pills are, how they work and what results you can expect to get. Let's take a closer look now.

What Are Skin Whitening Pills And How Do They Work?

Obviously it is meant to lighten the appearance of your skin. People want to achieve this for a variety of reasons and there are many treatment methods available, including pills.

There is no single whitening pill available on the market. There are several and each works in different ways. Let's see now.

Glutathione pills

This pill should work with blocking tyrosinease which is an essential enzyme for melanin production in our skin. Without this enzyme, you cannot tan. When Beyoncé appeared in Vanity Fair magazine for lighter skin, it was rumored that she was using glutathione pills to achieve her new look even though some claimed that the picture was digitally altered. So, do they work?

You should take this pill for at least two to three months to give your body an opportunity to reduce the production of natural melanin. However, many people taking these pills report that they do not work. Some doctors add the pill to make significant changes to the level of glutathione in your body and most are still produced in your cells. This is probably because no one is absorbed because it goes through your digestive system and is eventually released. However, some people receive glutathione injections instead of giving good results.

Additional NAC

NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine) Supplement is another major pill for skin whitening found in the market. NAC is a mucolytic agent that has long been of various medical uses but has recently been found to be useful in changing the appearance of cosmetics.

NAC is a precursor to glutathione so when it is consumed it acts to increase the body's existing glutathione reserves and increase their overall level. As a result, melanin production is reduced and as new layers of skin are created, they are gradually taking on a lighter appearance.

Unlike glutathione pills, clinical trials show that NAC significantly increases intracellular glutathione levels. In practice, many people also report excellent results with this supplement.

Other Types of Pills

Vitamin C is sometimes sold (often immoral) as a skin whitener. It is often added to glutathione pills for the same reason. It does not whiten the skin but can make it smoother and softer in appearance, giving it the illusion of a light whitening when there is no such thing.

There are many similar scams out there and you should be on the lookout. Always check the labels and sniff out anyone trying to sell your pills. Requests to see testimonials and judges for themselves whether they are true or not. While some pills out there seem to work, there are many who disguise themselves as a real deal when they are not.
