If you are bothered by popular skin disorders - compounds, this means you need to find methods, treatments and products that can help get rid of irritating spots on your face. Maybe you're a little confused and don't know where to start. I understand your situation. With so many products and treatments available to help with acne and the fact that they all promise results, it can be a bit confusing to find out what really works. The sad fact is that so many products are only hyped by the mass media, they do nothing to actually improve your skin condition and there are some products that actually leave your skin worse.
I'm sure you have to experience the excitement of a particular product or treatment only to be disappointed when you don't see the results you expect to be completely acne free. As a former acne patient, I'm happy to let you in on the best way you can get rid of your acne problems completely. The information you will assimilate will help you improve the texture of your skin (you will eventually be acne free) and this means you will be more confident in your appearance as you will never have to worry about acne on your skin anymore.
An overview of these annoying skin issues is known as acne
It's time for us to delve into the little biology here so you can better understand how you can properly deal with skin problems. As we all know, acne is a skin disease that usually starts in our teenage years and can still affect us in adulthood. Hair, hair follicles, sebum glands and muscles called arrhythmia are what are collectively referred to as pilosebaceous units of the skin. Now for acne breakouts there are several conditions that must be present and they include:
- Excess oil (sebum) is secreted by the sebum gland
- There is too much production of skin cells in the hair follicle tunnel (these cells have a way of blocking the follicle tunnel and then it becomes a problem for your skin to get rid of it over time).
- A huge increase in the number of bacteria living on the skin (Propionibacterium acnes is also called P.acnes bacteria - which is what I mean).
Now Here's Why You Also Need To Change Your Diet To Address This Skin Problem.
Over the years, we have heard reports from various skin care experts that have a direct connection between what we eat and how our skin is healthy - one reason why this view is somewhat debated is because different people have different food triggers. However, there are some detailed studies that show that certain foods actually cause acne on the skin. So to keep your skin free of acne, you only need to understand a few things about nutrition and make the desired changes. When it comes to your skin, the popular phrase that says you are what you eat is right. Your food is what provides the basic building blocks for your cells. So what this means is that if your cells are functioning well, then it is in your best interest to eat healthy food always. Another important factor to keep in mind is that the main reason for acne breakouts is hormone imbalance, so in other words, you should eat a variety of foods that help keep your hormones balanced.
1.) Avoid Frequent Dairy Products
In 2006, an investigation was conducted in the U.S. by a prestigious university and found that IGF-1 stimulates sebum production by the sebum gland. If you are confused about what exactly IGF-1 is, it is an Insulin Like Growth Factor and is an anabolic hormone that is directly required in the growth and development of body cells. For insulin itself, it is a hormone we all know that helps regulate the amount of sugar present in our blood. Therefore, when you drink a lot of milk, you increase the amount of IGF-1 in your bloodstream. And it has been previously known that human IGF-1 is very similar to the cow IGF-1 produces.
This is where the correlation to acne comes from - we all have IGF-1 receptors in our body including the sebum glands as well. Therefore, with a large amount of hormones in our body's system stimulates the sebaceous gland to increase sebum (oil) production - and as I said before, sebum causes too much acne on your skin.
2.) Reduce the Quantity of High Glycemic Carbohydrates You Drink
After the previous paragraph talking about milk and dairy products, I'm sure you start to understand why I say what you eat affects your skin texture. So the basic idea of all of this is that you need to gradually learn what you should eat freely and what you leave behind. When it comes to weight loss, the popular mantra is that you need to eat a small amount of low carb in the Glycemic Index. The Glycemic Index (or GI for the short term) is a measurement of how quickly the human body can convert certain carbohydrates into blood sugar. So, even though diabetes patients know this - eating a lot of high GI foods will increase the amount of sugar in the bloodstream. For example, in this case, the body reacts with insulin to try and stop the sugar in the blood cells.
The issue here is that a high amount of insulin that is active in the bloodstream causes the sebaceous glands to overflow and begin to absorb more sebum than the skin really needs. Therefore, if you are serious about reducing acne on your skin, you need to be careful about how much high GI carbohydrates you eat on a daily basis.
Now here is a very short list of foods that I know are high GI foods, there are others but let's start by avoiding these people for now:
- Soda
- Bakery Products
- White bread
- Pasta
- Mashed potatoes
- High sugar dairy products (chocolate, milk, ice cream etc.)
- White rice
3.) Reduce the Fat Fat Foods You Drink
There have been numerous studies that have shown in detail that there is a direct relationship between saturated fat and higher androgen levels in women and men. Androgen is usually considered to be a male hormone (DHT, Testosterone), but women also have them in their body too. Various scientific reports show that these androgens trigger the sebaceous gland to produce sebum. And because everyone has androgen receptors in their sebaceous glands and also in cells located in the pores, when you consume excess saturated fat, you are simply pushing your body to produce more androgen and this indirectly means Increase sebum production and cause more acne on your body and face!
Recent studies also show that the sebum gland produces inflammatory chemicals when you take more Omega 6 fatty acids. I'm sure you think this may contradict what we know before about the benefits of Omega 6 fatty acids; however the research is all very scientific. So if you are currently an acne patient, you may have to stay away from foods such as: soybeans, corn, safflower and sunflower oils high in Omega 6. fatty acids. completely from your diet, I'm just saying that because we know they can trigger acne, it's only natural that you try to reduce it.
4.) Avoid Those High Food AGEs!
AGE - this one looks like some fancy fancy acronym. It means easy Advanced Glycation End products. And this only refers to food cooked at a high temperature with no water in it. There are some chemicals released into foods that are cooked at high temperatures without humidity. And it has been found that AGE foods cause oxidative stress and cell inflammation. And from previous knowledge, we know that acne is a condition of inflammation. So in putting 1 and 2 together we can see that it makes sense to boil, boil, steam, stew or even slowly cook your food to make sure the water is in it. So if you really want to prevent acne on your skin, reducing the amount of stress and oxidative inflammation in your body - it's that easy!
Being able to fight acne is about knowing your body system and moving away from foods that have the ability to trigger acne on your skin. You are fully aware of dairy products, high glycemic index foods, high fat foods and AGE foods. So all you have to do is reduce the amount of food you eat - you don't have to eliminate it completely!
Anything to be accomplished requires dedication and patience to make it work. You should follow the instructions in this article if you want smooth, acne-free skin. It's not that difficult! For example if you want to reduce your milk intake, you can go for the same tasty coconut milk and almond milk. This is the kind of compromise you need to make if you want beautiful, smooth, radiant and clear skin.
