Melasma - Facial Pigmentation - Cause and a Treatment That Is Guaranteed to Work

To treat melasma or facial pigmentation effectively, we need to look at the root of the problem. In other words, we need to know what caused the melasma in the first place to treat it successfully so that the pigmentation of the face fades completely and in a relatively short period of time. Melasma usually takes ongoing treatment and a lot of patience to remove it permanently. There are certain cosmetic products and medicines that help them fade. But it is a time-consuming and slow process. Therefore, it is good to look at the factors that cause face pigmentation so that we can take precautionary measures.

It is very difficult to determine the exact cause of pigmentation / melasma. It varies from person to person. But the following four are the most common factors that cause melasma.

Hormone or Imbalance Changes

During pregnancy there are many hormone changes in the body of a pregnant woman.

This results in pigmentation of the face that is then cleansed without any treatment after child birth. But even if you are not pregnant you are prone to melasma due to hormonal changes. This can happen if you take oral contraceptive pills. Another interesting fact is that you can still get facial pigmentation even if you are not pregnant or women. In fact, 10 percent of people with facial pigmentation are men.

Incorrect Method for Waxing Facial Hair

Hair waxing is a common beauty practice that women follow. But if some after care is not taken or the hair is not waxed properly it produces pigmentation on the face.

Too much skin to the Sun.

Exposure to sunlight without the protection of sun-protective lotions increases the production of melanin in our skin which causes pigmentation. The skin is smoother. Hard UV rays damage the unprotected skin. Even too much use of tanning booths yields the same results.

Allergic reactions to certain drugs

This is one of the important reasons for the hyper pigmentation that many people see in me. Some antibiotics like minocycline, tetracycline and doxycycline are widely used by many people. Even minocycline is commonly used to treat acne. But the list of drugs that contribute to melasma does not stop here. There are some anti-depressants that also cause face pigmentation. Imipramine is one of them. Chlorpromazine is a drug commonly used as an anti-psychotic drug. It also causes melasma after prolonged use. Phenytoin prescribed for epilepsy is another example of long-term melasma drug. The peculiarity of the melasma caused by the drug is that it can easily worsen the skin with further exposure to the sun.

So now that we know the major and common causes of melasma and facial pigmentation we can take some precautionary steps against getting this condition in the first place. We are also in a position to take measures to prevent this skin condition. But how do we treat her when she has a cause? Well the first step naturally is to stop the situation that caused it.
