I finally did it! I ordered a small sample of virgin hair from Malaysian hair from Manedepot online and I broke it. It takes less than 10 minutes and remains very soft and healthy. I have blond hair and some experienced hairdressers may know ... there are not many high quality blonde products on the market. Hey ... if I'm wrong, please let me know. I would love any suggestions. If they last more than two or three installations without getting damaged, I consider them high quality.
Lately, I've been researching the subject of virgin hair as it relates to extensions (wefts, fusions, wigs, etc.). Virgin hair is unprocessed and so it behaves naturally and lasts longer than chemically modified hair extensions. Manufacturers often use an acid bath or dyeing process to change the texture of the virgin hair for resale and this destroys the natural cuttings that keep the hair soft and feel soft. Asian hair is often acidic to release the cuticle which makes the strands less rough and more suitable for Caucasian use. The silicone layer is applied after the acid bath thus giving a soft and shiny appearance; The problem is, when silicone wears hair it starts to tangle and mat. If you decide to buy a virgin, make sure you buy from a reputable retailer; you don't want nits, lice or gray hair in your lace. You also don't want animal hair mixed with human hair, synthetic hair mixed with human hair, or different groups of hair mixed into the same sheath that produces polar inconsistencies. It is best to buy single or double unprocessed hair from one donor. The main drawback to all of this is for me that virgin hair is almost always dark because most of the donors are Indian, Hispanic, or Asian. The only exceptions to the darkest virgin hair are those of Northern Slavic origin or European virgin hair - and they are very expensive and rare!
I think what I'm really getting is that I'm tired of not being able to use my hair extensions for more than a few installations. So after researching and determining the many benefits of virgin hair, I decided to give it a try; the main problem is that i have to solve it to dye my shades. If all goes well, I will get all the benefits of wearing beautiful virgin hair (technically no longer a virgin after you break it down but you know what I mean). and hopefully it will last a year or so if I take good care of it. Some wearers have reported that their virgin hair is actually better and softer when they wear it. It sounds like virgin hair is more expensive than other types of extensions but considering I bought one 4 four ounces of cloth at $ 130 per month or so I thought the higher cost would have been a good start. If they survive as long as people say I'll actually save money in the long run.
I saw a detailed article describing the very process of whitening with this new knowledge I bought from Sally's Beauty Supply. Here is a list of what I bought: 1 tube of bleach powder, 40 lightening solutions and some toners (removing copper) and some good aragan oils. That's the person ... those 4 ingredients. I mixed the powder and 40 parts in the same part (add a little toner and aragan oil), applied to the sample and (here is the secret) I put it in aluminum foil and in the oven on a warm setting for 7 minutes. Unbelievable! My sample is laced with a simple gold-colored blonde. I rinse it, add some apple vinegar to neutralize any residual and deep-dehydrated conditioner with aragan oil. It's so beautiful, so soft and ready to dye the shade I choose. I know that I'll leave it for another 2 or 3 minutes and it'll be a very light brown. I decided to buy the full 4-ounce roll from Perfect Lock because the place I bought the samples was pretty expensive - even though they looked good. I usually install less than the entire 4 oz so this is good for me. People with thick hair will need two 4 ribs to see more clearly. They have some very nice curly Indian hair in 16 inches for about $ 150 (customer review on quality).
