Since the early 1990s dolls have expressed a desire for baby dolls to look real. At that time the art of rebellion appeared. The stop is basically taking a high quality vinyl doll and adding some extra. The doll artist often adds layers of vein and various colors of paint to give the doll's beautiful appearance. Underestimating not only the face but the hands and feet to give the doll a healthy light. Paint is used for the toes and toes to distinguish between the nail bed and the white ends. Hair will be hand-rooted allowing doll collectors to choose what is full or how thin their hair is. No question, this doll is beautiful. However, all these improvements come at a price.
I have been a puppet collector for many years and have seen this doll first hand at doll shows. Although very realistic, I have never been able to justify the cost of this one doll. This technique is called Inner Glow. Inner Glow uses a specially formulated blue dye used on the inside of a vivid, transparent vinyl to mimic baby skin, thus enhancing the depth and richness of baby dolls that look real. Light coating is applied to the face, arms and legs. Inner Glow is available in the newly released 17-inch and 19-inch facial expressions from Apple Valley Doll Works and the manufacturer plans to expand its offer for additional expression in the future.
Some words are guaranteed to describe the vinyl itself. Extra light, semi-transparent vinyl has a soft touch. If you squeeze the vinyl, there is a little bit of it to the body. This natural feel to vinyl again replicates the tenderness you experience from the touch to the human skin.
Puppets created with lighter and lighter semi-transparent vinyl, are convertible dolls for adults or older children. Because these vines are more fragile, they cannot be considered dolls to play for toddlers.
While there are rewards for the Inner Glow application for lightweight vinyl additions, doll collectors no longer have to pay premium prices for baby dolls that look real. Price points for Inner Glow dolls can be reached with a wider doll collection base.
