Parents generally do not like taking pictures of them. The reason is clear - long faces are easy victims of deep shadows, harsh lighting, close lids or sharp lenses. They may look good in candlelight but when their grandchildren take their digital cameras, the good looks are history. The obvious solution is not that great. They can claim remote images that show only a small, indistinguishable face, use a lot of makeup or just go out of photos. Luckily, there is a better solution. With a little effort from the photographer, the portrayal of an old man he feels comfortable with improves. All you have to do is get used to the photo editing app.
You can start from the top of the photo, where dark roots and stray hair damage hair. Clone tools can easily remove completely lost hair. Only copy the surrounding area using a feather clone stamp at 50% transparency. For darker roots, you need to clone the hair area of the same color and walk in the same direction if the subject has straight hair. 30% transparency is good for natural effects. Zoom in as much as your screen size allows.
Shiny foreheads are a little harder to repair, but they can often be repaired with a brush brush. Set it to simple strength and 50% transparency. Set the feather to 100% and select the size twice as the highlight area. Darkening this area is not a good option, but you can do a good job of working carefully with the airbrush. Select skin tones from neighboring areas using eye creams and highlight areas with 3% transparency.
The blemishes can be easily corrected with a clone tool set at 70% transparency. Copy from undamaged skin area. About the same thing can be done to fix the eye bag. Drag the clone at 85% transparency onto the bag to give the subject a younger look. However, be careful not to go overboard.
You can also work very closely to bring out the subject's white eyes. Use the dotted line mask to outline it and turn the mask area into an object. Open the brightness box and contrast and click once on the brightness at 3%. Do not attempt to adjust this area. There are ways to open the eyes a little but it's very complicated. You can also put a highlight on the eyes if no one is using a 2-3 pixel brush and a light gray. You can use about 100% wool or crescent shape for external pictures.
Another common problem with digital photography is that the teeth often appear dark or yellowish. Place a dotted circle around them and open a box of brightness and contrast. Click on the brightness at 5% and then adjust the color balance by 3% on magenta. You can also fix your crooked teeth with a good clone instead. However, it takes some practice and professional training to get it right.
If the skin is too pale, you can fix it using the histogram arrow. Slide slightly to the right to get darker skin. Sliding to the left should blacken the midtones, mimicking tons of sunlight. The right end represents the white people and the left ends the black. There are also other ways to correct imperfections in the face. Adjusting the color balance can help you warm it by covering your head and face and changing the remaining 2% yellow and 2% red. If this seems inappropriate, try 1% for each one. The windy conditions, dark shadows and blemishes are temporary, while the good pictures are forever.
