Depending on the type of acne you have scars that can range from mild to severe, with the latter becoming more difficult to remove, but there are some creams such as coco butter which are good remedies for removing scars. It is also used to remove stretch marks after delivery, as well as to brighten the skin. Usually in mild cases these scars will disappear by themselves over time.
For serious scarring cases, one form of treatment is laser coating usually done by a dermatologist. Basically what the laser does is remove the top layer of damaged skin and tighten the middle layer, leaving the skin with a smoother effect. This procedure can be quite painful, so local anesthesia should be used to numb the area of the skin to be treated. The length of this procedure can vary from a few minutes to a hour, depending on the severity of the scarring, and it usually takes anywhere from three to ten days for the skin to heal properly.
Another method is dermabrasion, which is a high-speed brush or a rotating diamond instrument used to remove the skin surface and change the shape of the scar. Whether this procedure is using the first layer of skin and as a healing process a new layer of skin is formed to replace the first layer which leaves the skin looking smoother. Unlike laser coating procedures that heal within three to ten days, this procedure takes longer and can last anywhere from ten days to three weeks. Both procedures leave your skin red and easily irritated for months.
Two types of treatments commonly used today are Collagen injection and Autologous fat transfer; both of these procedures are performed with injection. In Collagen procedures, the body's normal ingredients are injected under the skin to "stretch" some kind of shallow and deep scars. Autologous fat transfer is similar to collagen injection, in which fat is taken from other parts of your body and injected under the surface of the skin to lift the suppressed scar. This procedure must be repeated because the way fat is re-absorbed into the skin over a long period of time, and to achieve a longer lasting result the procedure should be repeated several times.
