Since its medical value and popularity are known by many other names around the world as under Latin: Psoralea corylifolia English: Babchi, Purple Fleabane, French: Psoraléa, Arabic: Mehlab-Aswad, Persian: Waghchi, Sanskrit: Vakuchi, Bakuchi, Hindi: Babchi, Chinese: Bu gu zhi, German: Bawchan
This plant is commonly found in China and India in dry and dry conditions, especially sandy desserts. The seeds contain essential oils, unchanged terpenoid oils, pigments, resins, fixed oils, raffinose, two coumarin compounds, psoralen and isopsoralen, psoralidin, corylifolean, isopsoralidin; and the most active ingredient is psoralin alkaloids.

Oral administration combined with the use of oil and exposure to the sun for 5-30 minutes daily for 1-7 weeks yields favorable results. It has been shown to improve skin color (including removing white spots)
In another case study, forty-nine patients were using Babchi seed / oil treatment for 6 months. Of these patients, 14 percent recovered and another 19 percent received pigmentation on the 2/3 ed patch.
This herb has been considered by Ayurvedic doctors to be so effective in the treatment of leprosy that it is named 'Kushtanashini'. (leprosy).
According to ayurvedic it will increase Pitta (Bile) in the body. so it should be taken with honey or ghee. Babchi also promotes bone calcification, so it is also used in the treatment of osteoporosis in traditional medicine. It is also used to stop the spread of some forms of cancer as it prevents the proliferation of osteosarcoma (bone cancer cells) and lung cancer cells. Under the Chinese medical system, the seeds are known as aphrodisiac and tonic which is the genital organs. And used as a Libido Stimulator: to treat impotence and to improve vitality
Security & Interaction Information: Babchi is considered safe; however, as it makes the white spots so sensitive to the sun that it is important to use sunscreen or prevent sun exposure. It may cause skin irritation and blisters when using this topical herb. If that happens, stop using it. In many cases you will see stomach ache and discomfort, stop using it if you have the problem.
Precautions: Do not take low body fluids; don't use it with a smooth root.
