There is a lot of misunderstanding about tattoo removal, especially in the ways in which it can be done. Many of these myths are not dangerous to try and will result in unpacking, but others may be harmful. For those who are interested in doing home removals, be sure to find out which methods are true and which are fictional. Here's a list of commonly used tattoo removal methods and the truth behind why they don't:
1. Removal of Tattoo with Magnet
For some reason the legend of this city survived several years ago and continues to deceive people to this day. The concept is simply that the magnet will pull the ink up and out of the skin when placed outside where the tattoo is written. This is probably because other paints and inks are made of metal, especially chromate and carbonate. However, these metals are toxic to humans and using it for tattoo ink is dangerous. The only metal-based ink is used in the case of cosmetic tattoos (which use iron pigments) and even these do not contain enough metal to attract the magnet. That being said, magnets will not affect the tattoo because the ink (made without metal or with a minimum amount of metal) is not attracted to the magnet. Those who try to use magnets will find that it has no effect on their tattoos and cannot be used to remove tattoos in any way.
2. Removal of Bleach with Bleach
Bleach is a combination of chemicals used to remove color, whiten, or sterilize, often using oxidation or reduction, a process that changes the state in which atoms appear when exposed to oxygen. When the bleaching oxidation is applied to the material it breaks the chemical bonds that bind the chromophoric molecules (molecules that reflect light and color) together. Or to put it in terms that are understood, it does not bind to colored molecules to make them look like colorless ones. When reducing the bleaching applied to the material, it alters the chemical bonds so that the molecules of the chromosphere no longer reflect light (and so they look white instead of colored). Given the way the bleach works, it makes sense by the way, why people believe it works to remove the tattoo. However, the truth is The bleach will remove not only the skin pigment, but also the skin pigment. This means that the area where the bleach is used will look white and scarred, unlike natural skin without tattoos. Bleaching is very painful because it burns the skin surface and cannot be contained only by tattooing. Therefore, someone should do not try to use bleach for tattoo removal or any other purpose other than its intended use.
3. Removal of Injury by Freezing
It is commonly known that exposing the skin to extremely cold temperatures causes frostbite, which can lead to loss of skin or other body tissue. Process dermabrasion involves the freezing of the skin in the local area (where the wound is located) and then separating the dead tissue so that the new layer will regenerate without ink pigment. However, it doesn't take more than common sense to see that this won't work. Freezing of body tissue is almost complete impossible to localize, especially when applied to a general skin surface and not to a specific attachment. Therefore, this method is not only very painful, but also will not work unless the area is larger than just a frozen tattoo. It will also leave the main scar tissue, which may be less attractive than the tattoo. Do not use dermabrasion when trying to remove a tattoo, it's easier to try other methods that are more effective and will not leave scars.
